+ Does anyone out there know what ever became of the 3 original Fatima
+ contactees? Since they were children at the time of the great events
+ of 1917 it seems possible that one or more may still be alive.
+ How about their younger siblings or cousins, or their children?
As far as I remember, one of the children (a girl) is still alive,
although she is now a Nun. And she has done various interviews on the
subject, although she has never released the results of her third secret.
It is also rumoured that one pope was assasinated due to his
belief that the prophercies should be revealed...

There is one of the original witnesses still alive. I am 99% positive
her name is Lucia and she is a nun. I teach undergraduate religious
studies and I just read two student papers on Fatima. One was crap,
the other was quite good.
As for the "third secret", supposedly each time a new pope comes into
power, he is privy to this secret. I recently read in a very
respected, left leaning Catholic publication ("The National Catholic
Reporter"), that Cardinal Ratizinger who is one of the most powerful
people around when it comes to silencing theologians, etc... commented
that he was also privy to the secret, and that it deals with the same
type of info as the Book of Revelation.
I just finished reading a book by a man called "Browing" (I think) who
is a Cambridge educated Presbyterian minister who lives in the States
and has an interest in UFOs. His book is called "THe Bible and UFOs".
It's been around for a while. I can tell you from the scriptural side
of it he makes a plausible, if not a probable case for the recording
of UFO encounters in the Bible, especially the Jewish Scriptures (or
Old Testament). I found it a little hard to swallow that Jesus was
an alien, but hey, who knows?
In connection with Fatima's third secret, it might be interesting to
attempt to correlate prophecies of Nostradamus, as well as prophecies
in non-Christian religions. Believe me, as a theologian I am a hard
headed skeptic, especially ABOUT religion. But it is kind of
interesting to entertain these alternative views.

Yes, to the best of my knowledge Lucia is a nun. It would be
interesting to subject her to hypno-regression, wouldn't it?
In this connection, is there any mention of "missing time" in
the Fatima accounts? I don't recall any, but would appreciate
any input here.
I recall reading somewhere that the third prophecy supposedly concerns the end of the Papacy, or that a Pope will be assassinated (some of my
religious friends were sure that it was fulfilled by the attempted
assassination of John Paul II some years back).
In any case, I too seriously doubt whether the historical individual we
know as "Jesus" was a full-blooded alien. But it's not impossible to
speculate that he was a mixed-breed, the end product of a genetic
experiment of the sort that still seem to be going on, if there's any
truth to what Hopkins, et al. have suggested. If so, he must have been
heavily conditioned (and programmed) by his "masters"--definitely NOT your garden variety contactee. One wonders whether they consider the
"experiment" to have been a success....
Re the possible isomorphism between other eschatological traditions and
that contained in Revelations, a Mesoamericanist friend of mine, who
follows the ancient Maya Calendar faithfully, that is, he keeps track
of where we are relative to the fifty-two year cycles, etc., tells me that the current macrocycle (what the Aztecs called the "Sun of Fire"), is about to end. I can't recall the exact day or year--will check this out shortly--but it's before the end of the current century. Does any of this correlate with Nostradamus? He's so vague that it's hard to tell, although I have heard that some Nostradamus fans are saying something similar about the end of the current "age." Although I'm not a believer in either traditional religion--ANY traditional religion--or the "new age" alternatives, it does make one wonder....

The Fatima sighting is already a hotly debated item in the UFO community.
The descriptions of the ball in the sky are not unlike what some
observers of UFO phenomena have also described.
As to the children. I'm afraid two died before they reached adulthood. The third went into a nunnery and there remains. She has however written a book about the experience but it does not include the prophesies. Those were given to the Pope and were to be krevealed in the 1960's. Supoosedly, they were so scary, that the Pope in the 1960's chose not to reveal them, However, a bit of research on the subject did turn up a kbook, supposedly 'channeled' by a Ray Stanford in the US. It was a fascinating book. The reason for the passing of two of the three children, is to emphasise the fact that supposedly, up to two thirds of the world's population is supposed to be gone by the end of this century. And wit the rate of famine, civil wars, aids, the increase in cancers, and the re emergence ofa few once thought banished diseases, and a few new versions of old ones, it appears very likely this will happen!
Another prophesy was a major world war by this time. Well, in
one sense that hasn't happened. On the other hand, the 'world' is now
represented by the UN and its involved in a lot of places, which in
effect, means the world is at war in a lot of places. And don't say but
they are only peace keepers - theyare in fact turning into, with official sanction, peace makers and this could mean trouble!
There are more prophesies about the changes this world will see at
the end of this century. Generally, the channelled book says the reason
for the revelation was simply to warn us to smarten up and love our
neighbours and respect Divine Laws/Universal laws. It also by the way,
predicted WW 2 very acceurately. There is more but a lot of that
prophesy is also found in Edgar Cayce prophesy material. And there are a lot of New Agers expounding on the geological changes coming our way within the next few years that are also in the Fatima phophesy. And a lot of old age psychics are getting the same material. And now even seismologists and the scientific community I have noticed in the paper are warning about major earthquakes very soon in the same places all the psychic have spoken of. This is getting eriee! Scientists and psychic agreeing! This could be fun. But then, I live in Canada and in an area that from what I have read, should be pretty safe, although one source I came across said it will get pretty cold here after the polar axis shift of the earth.
And I say none of this in jest, merely as the interested obsevor
and researcher. Prophesy is sort of a hobby. I used to like science
fiction, but I found out its all supposed to be make believe - I like
stuff that just might be or come, true.
But do you really want to see a discussion on this stuff on this
